Chinese Judo Association

The Chinese Judo Association (CJA), a national non-governmental organization based in Beijing, was founded in 1979. It is a member of the All-China Sports Federation. In 1983, China became a formal member of the International Judo Federation.

Major tasks of the CJA are:

* to increase public participation and interests in judo;

* to organize and coordinate international competitions in China so as to promote exchanges with teams from other countries and regions;

* to organize training and competitions within China;

* to formulate rules on athletes, coaches and judges, as well as the standards to evaluate them;

* to organize training programs for athletes, coaches, and judges;

* to select and recommend athletes and coaches for the national judo team;

* to assist training of the national team and its participation in national and international games;

* to organize research programs.

There are the National Judo Congress of Athlete Representatives, the National Committee, the Secretariat, the Technical Committee, the Judges Committee, the Research Committee, the Publicity Committee, the Discipline Committee and the Doping Control Committee under the CJA.

Chinese Field Hockey Association

The Chinese Field Hockey Association, a national and non-government organization based in Beijing, was founded in 1981. It is a member of the All-China Sports Federation and was accepted as a formal member of the International Hockey Federation.

Objectives of the Chinese Field Hockey Association are:

* to increase public participation and interests in field hockey;

* to formulate regulations on field hockey games;

* to organize national games, host international games and assist Chinese teams’ participation in international games in other countries;

* to organize training of field hockey teams, and launch training programs for coaches and judges;

* to select players and coaches for national teams;

* to assist research programs.

There are six committees, namely the National Committee, the Standing Committee, the Coaches Committee, the Judges Committee, the Research Committee and the Secretariat under the Association.
